What We Are About

Dr. Kraus obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and worked in the field of accounting for a few years before realizing that this area was not her passion. During this time, her brother-in-law developed grade 4 brain cancer and she was intrigued by his changing behavior and became very interested in the subject of neurology and behavior. The neurosurgeon at that time suggested she come and conduct research with him and she did! For three years, on her own time, she conducted research particularly in the area of neurodegenerative diseases; during that time she wrote and published papers worldwide with research in the area of Parkinson’s disease and cognitive functioning as a primary focus. She became so interested in this area that she decided to pursue a degree in Clinical Psychology at Loma Linda University. She obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and then her Ph.D in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Neuropsychology. She continued to conduct research and publish papers.

Post-doctoral experience was at the Pediatric Assessment Program at Loma Linda University. She maintained the position of Supervisor of Doctoral Students who conducted psychological and neuropsychological assessments in children and adolescents with various disorders. It was during this time that Dr. Kraus realized she wanted to find a treatment for these children that was more natural, yet effective. After extensive research, she found EEG Biofeedback, or Neurofeedback.

We feel so fortunate to have found Neurofeedback and Dr. Kraus. Maddie's teacher says she is a different child from last year to this. I have seen more ease in communicating with others verbally and improvements in both fine finger and gross motor coordination. I have been using the audio-visual home unit as well. It is so calming and helps with my sleep too.

An interesting note. My brain pattern is somewhat atypical. Dr. Kraus was able to find the setting that best fit my brain quickly due to her extensive experience.

Thank you, Dr. Kraus!!

Dr. Kraus, thank you so much for your time and expertise. These past ten weeks, you put up with a lot of traffic and time on the road and I appreciate it, as does my brother Charlie. I mentioned to you earlier, as time goes by I feel the treatments begin to take effect. The old feelings of fog and dullness and poor focus have smoothed out. There is a calmness and therefore a confidence that I can hold a thought and follow the idea through to its completion without losing my train of thought or my understanding of the idea. The images I get from the words are clear and connect to the following words with no interruption. There is a "sequential linkage" that words give you and because of the treatments the linkage to the meaning of words is stronger and better understood. My memory has become familiar to me again!

…Neurofeedback has been a lifesaver since my brain injury two years ago. My sessions keep my brain focused, sharp, balanced and calm…

The Neurofeedback sessions were very helpful as I noticed gradual improvements in my racing thoughts and depression, but the real winning component from me was that I became anxiety free…
